 SUBJECT Religious Studies
 ADMISSIONS Students are expected to meet entry requirements for Borden Grammar Sixth Form. It is preferable that students will have achieved at least a grade B in GCSE Religious Studies, however, applications will be considered on an individual basis.
 SYLLABUS Edexcel Religious Studies
 COURSE The AS/A2 course comprises of two modules that are taught over both years-Religious Ethics and tthe Fourth Gospel. An individual piece of coursework is undertaken in Year 12, which offers the student an opportunity to pursue both individual interests and also demonstrate personal ability. In Year 13, the Synoptic module offers as means of making links between all units studied and provides the student with a logical conclusion to the whole course.

 ASSESSMENT Students are assessed using a range of methods, which meet the requirements of the exam board. These include structured essay writing; independent and group research; both oral and visual presentations; formal debate and class discussion.
 CAREERS Recently, the chief executive for the council of Industry and Higher Education was quoted as saying of Religious Studies students "We have found that these students are among the most employable in the workplace because of their skills." Any occupation dealing with people and making judgements between different options would benefit from Religious Studies A-Level. Of course, you could always become a vicar!
