 ADMISSIONS

Students will preferably have studied GCSE Geography achieving at least a grade B, but applications will be considered on an individual basis.

 SYLLABUS Edexcel Syllabus B
 COURSE

The AS/A2 course builds on the work started at GCSE and coursework plays an important part in both the AS and A2 work completed (a fieldtrip to North Yorkshire is undertaken in the Autumn Term of Year 12 as part of the coursework module, a local study will also be made available). We study a range of topic areas, incorporating a breadth of current events and topical issues, consequently independent research is a key element throughout the course and this skill is put into practice for the A2 Research Report.

A successful Geographer will exhibit a wide range of transferable skills that include the ability to research from a range of sources, work independently on a number of topics, organise effectively their file and demonstate an ability to record techniques, manipulate data, complete problem solving and decision making exercises and present and report their findings.
