 ADMISSIONS Students will preferably have achieved a Grade B in Chemistry GCSE or BB in Double Science GCSE.
 SYLLABUS EDEXCEL (8CH01) / (9CH01)
 COURSE Two teachers teach the AS course with an emphasis on practical work. It builds on work that has already been covered at GCSE, allowing the student to have a deeper understanding of Chemistry. The A2 course extends the work covered by the AS course. Unit 4     6CH04    General Principles of Chemistry 1 - Rates, Equilibria and Further Organic chemistry
Unit 5     6CH05    General Principles of chemistry 11 - Transition Metals and Organis Nitrogen Chemistry
Unit 6     6CH06    Chemistry Laboratory Skills 11

 ASSESSMENT Units 1, 2 & 3 are taken at the end of the first year and 4, 5 & 6 at the end of the second year. Units 3 and 6 are internal practical assessments, which are cariied out throughout the course.
 CAREERS Careers could include Medicine, Veterinary sciences, Chemical engineering, Forensics, research, finance and teaching.
