KS3 Physical Education

Details of KS3 Physical Education

Enjoyment is a very important element of the Key Stage 3 PE programme and without it everything would break down. However, enjoyment based on fun activities without a skill element only provides a short-lived involvement. We aim to provide pupils with the knowledge and skills, which will enable life long participation in physical activity.

The department feel it is important to encourage a proper attitude towards physical education that will, hopefully, carry through the school and later life so that boys are able to make full use of their leisure time.

The Key Stage 3 Physical Education curriculum focuses on the following key objectives:

Acquiring and Developing Skills
Selecting and Applying Skills & Tactics

Knowledge and Understanding of Fitness and Health
Evaluating and Improving Performance
As a specialist school in sport we expect the specialism to help motivate pupils in other areas of the curriculum.
